About NAMSA

NAMSA is a non-profit organization run by Malaysian students studying in the U.S. to protect and further the interest of the Malaysian student body in the U.S. We work with the Embassy of Malaysia and EducationUSA to achieve these goals.

We offer support to Malaysian students studying in the US, such as cultural events, career development workshops, and more. We also work to advocate for the needs and interests of Malaysian students on a national level.

NAMSA has three main pillars of organization:

(1) Advocacy and Service: We vow to be the platform where students can voice out their opinions/concerns on any issue, and receive help for any situation given the circumstances. Everyone is a part of our NAMSA family and we believe that no one and no voice should be left behind or unheard.

(2) Career and Professional Development: We strive to help the development of future leaders of the country by finding opportunities that can benefit not just the students but also other stakeholders such as companies in Malaysia and the US. This is done by hosting various career fairs, workshops, etc; that are all boosted by a growing network that we build with different stakeholders.

(3) Lifestyle and Culture: As the faces of Malaysia in the US, we should always try to display Malaysian hospitality with pride in almost everything we do. In NAMSA, events such as the Malaysian Cultural Festival (MFest) and the Malaysian Sports Festival (MSF) promote this along with other events hosted by the Malaysian Student Associations (MASAs) in universities across the US.

NAMSA provides resources, support, networking, leadership development, cultural events and community service to Malaysian students in the United States. Education Malaysia officers in the Malaysian embassy and NAMSA members are available to help with any issues or questions.

Absolutely not! Joining NAMSA means that you are part of an organization with ambitious individuals who are eager to give back to their fellow countrypeople, and they have the financial and time capacity to fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to them. However, if you seek support from NAMSA, simply reach out to us (see above for the how-to) and we'd be glad to help!

If you'd like to receive updates about NAMSA's latest events, initatives, grants and other programs, feel free to sign up via the website form attached at the bottom of our website.

You can do so by filling in the form at the end of the website. With your University's MASA registered, it will be eligible to financial support for its operations and other resources available for its events.

NAMSA can provide financial assistance to Malaysian committees in universities within the United States by request under certain terms and conditions such as during events and emergency conditions. Email us for more details.

Yes, you can volunteer with us. As a volunteer, you can contribute your time and expertise to help NAMSA with its various initiatives, events and activities. You can contact NAMSA directly to learn more about volunteer opportunities and how to get involved

Currently, NAMSA does not offer any job or internship opportunities since it is a non-profit student organization. However, you can participate in our events to gain and experience more about what we do. You can also apply to be a member in our community during our recruitment season!
